Destiny Tutors

 

About

The Destiny Tutoring Program is a non-profit academic enrichment program housed and supported by Bible Way Christian Center that targets low-income middle school and high school students.

Tutor Subjects

Tutors are needed in all subjects. However, the greatest need is in mathematics.

    • Earth Science

    • Chemistry

    • Biology

  • Foreign Language

    • Spanish

  • Mathematics

    • Pre - Algebra

    • Algebra

    • Geometry

    • Statistics

    • Pre-Calculus

    • Trigonometry

    • Calculus

Tutor Requirements

  • Be at least 16 years old

  • Clear background check (if over age 18)

  • Proficient in subject he/she is teaching

  • Enjoy working with children

  • Punctual and professional

  • Be available Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings


 

Program Hours

Tutoring will take place at Bible Way Christian Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, January through May and September through December. Snacks are provided for tutors and students.

Schedules

We understand that availability varies for each individual. Each tutor can create a schedule that works for him/her through the program coordinator. Most tutors volunteer on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

Volunteer Hours

Destiny is a 501c3 non-profit organization. All volunteer hours are tax deductible and can qualify as required volunteer hours for various institutions.

Orientation

Tutors must attend a 20 minute orientation before his/her first tutoring session. Orientations can be scheduled with the program coordinator.

Background Check

For the safety of our children, volunteers over age 18 are asked to complete a background check before volunteering.
